Attendance(15)
We won't be taking attendance; instead, I will be calling on people in a semi-random fashion to answer questions. If your name is called and you are not present, the absence will result in a 5 point reduction.
Discussion Lead(15)
  • 13-15:  
  1. Shows full understanding of the reading materials and ability to critically identify and analyze main themes and concepts.
  2. Presentation is focused, clear, well-organized, and engaging.
  3. Utilizes a variety of types of media to support the discussion and engage the audience.
  4. Demonstrates original thought within the summary and critical analysis.
  5. Introduces new ideas or interpretations not covered within the text.
  • 9-12:  
  1. Demonstrates adequate understanding of the reading, providing a summary of major ideas and details.
  2. Some major points may be lacking
  3. Asks questions that partially deepen the discussion.
  4. Responds and listens to group members but in ways that do not widely stimulate their responses.
  5. Minimal analysis and critical thinking.A great deal of the response is descriptive with little interpretive or original work in conjunction with the text.

Museum Visiting(5)
